Mace Consult has secured a role on Sydney Airport’s A$6bn capital investment programme as Australia’s largest international airport prepares for a significant expansion of its terminals and airfield infrastructure.
The consultancy has been appointed to Sydney Airport’s Professional Services Framework alongside TBH Consultancy, securing a place on the framework’s delivery services lot.
The two companies will provide programme and project management, cost and commercial management, project controls, risk management, procurement advice and delivery assurance.
Sydney Airport’s long-term investment programme includes an additional 65,000 sq metres of terminal space as well as upgrades to airfield, landside and utilities infrastructure. The works are intended to increase capacity and improve passenger facilities while allowing the airport to remain fully operational during construction.
Mace said its team was now mobilised and working on the programme.
The appointment expands the UK-headquartered consultancy’s presence in Australia’s aviation infrastructure market. Its existing work in the country includes roles connected with Western Sydney International Airport, Brisbane Airport and Melbourne Airport’s T4 Express Link.
Mace also works on airport infrastructure programmes internationally, including at Heathrow, Amsterdam Schiphol, Iceland’s Keflavik airport and Hamad International Airport in Qatar.

Sydney Airport is Australia’s principal international aviation gateway and its infrastructure investment comes as the country’s airports prepare for longer-term growth in passenger demand.
