London’s long-delayed Crossrail will open on May 24, Transport for London said on Wednesday, with 12 trains per hour initially running through the middle section of the line.

Crossrail, which has been renamed the Elizabeth line, will run east to west connecting London’s Canary Wharf financial district with Heathrow Airport.

It has been delayed by three years and has gone significantly over budget.
