Are You Considering A Business Blog?

If you have a website and currently have products or services on there, but no blog, you are potentially missing out on extra sales.

Most people like to think of themselves as quite savvy in technology and internet; but not everybody knows why a business blog is so valuable.

It used to be that the blog would simply be something for people to share their life stories and journeys on. However, a business blog is now one of the number one ways to increase your visibility and increase conversions.

A business blog is now an essential part of any business marketing plan, but if you don’t have one, don’t worry.

The right time to launch a business blog is always right now.

Consistency

Adding a page to your website with the words ‘blog’ on the top is not going to be enough. If you commit to a business blog, you are committing to creating content at least twice a week. Within that content, you will need to make sure you are meeting all of the vital components of great content.

One of the first things you might like to do is consult SEO services; often, they combine SEO keyword research and content creation.

Be prepared to be consistent.

It takes time

One of the biggest misconceptions about a business blog is that the moment it is launched, you will have thousands of readers and that all of those readers will convert.

While the internet moves incredibly quickly; your SEO ranking won’t.

You should expect to see an increase in organic traffic anywhere between 6 to 12 months after implementing a good content strategy.

Be prepared to stick with a business blog; you’ll see results over time.

Yes, your customers do read blogs

One of the biggest misconceptions that businesses are under is that your customers don’t read blogs. Unfortunately, this is entirely incorrect. Almost everybody with a mobile phone has used a search engine to find the answer to questions.

And if your website happens to answer those questions, you’ve likely stumbled up upon somebody who could be a potential customer.

When people are trying to make purchase decisions, one of the first places available look is the internet, and when they do this, they are circling that all-important ‘Purchase’ button. You might have thought that your customers aren’t reading blogs; they probably are, just unintentionally while looking for information.

So why not be the one to answer all of the questions around your products or services?

A flop

Even with the best content marketing strategy in place, they will be the occasional blog post flop. But it doesn’t mean that it can’t be helpful. You can take all of the information from that post and look at why it did not succeed.

Compare it with your other more popular posts and manipulate the content to reach the readers.  Much of great business blogging is about a/b testing.

Your business blog is one of the most insightful things that you can offer to your potential clients. It is also one of the places where you will get the most in terms of metrics about your customers. Just be prepared to put the time in to make it work.
